Azlan Publications has delivered since 1982 several small publications for the information and interest of people who wish to know more about their Town, now we are pleased to announce that we have produced a more substantial book; "Northampton Public Houses and Their Signs" by the author Jack Plowman.

Work on this book was started in 1982  and consists of an alphabetical list of over 750 entries about pubs that are, or have been, within the Borough of Northampton, listed by their signs, with ideas as to their meanings and cross-references for some name changes.

The book has nearly 300 pages and includes many illustrations and photographs of pubs, it costs a modest £15 and can be purchased from the following Northampton pubs; The Wig & Pen in St. Giles' Street and the Queen Adelaide Kingsthorpe - it can also be found in Northampton's Public Libraries and Northampton Museum and Art Gallery.

You can order the book directly from the website please contact us via the contact page.

Jack Plowman would like to hear from any readers of his book who has any old photographs of pubs, stories relating to events or characters connected with pubs of the past with the intention of producing a second volume in the future.
